Could You Survive This Job Interview Stealth Tactic?

To eliminate a candidate’s silvery tongue, my colleague used an ingenious tactic. He stealthily turned off his hearing aids. Now he saw the candidate in the raw. Who says that a hearing loss has to be a handicap? For an employer, finding the best job candidate is like finding a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Are you prepared to survive this stealth tactic? Personally, I thought it ingenious of my friend to call on talents that others call “handicaps”.

Silence is Not the Same as Not Speaking

When would I consider a silent video technique? When competing for a highly competitive, desirable top position.

The more attractive the job, the higher paying the job, the more stressful your upcoming interview, the more you have to be at your best.

Sophisticated video techniques help to alert you to negative changes in your behavior. Alerted, you can now take appropriate steps to train yourself for your interview.

Awareness is The Doorway to Change.

What is the main point of this article? Any article? Information? Awareness? A new perspective? Better skills?

Awareness!

Are you looking to educate yourself, about yourself, for a more successful interview? Then the more ways you try to improve your interview techniques, the better your chances are for a successful interview. Only you can gauge your needs for your job interview training.

For fun, consider renting some silent movies from the early 1920’s.  Valentino? Metropolis™? Chaplin? Imaging what these movies would have been like with sound. Flops. Sound changed the entire movie industry. Some have suggested that the introduction of sound has allowed less skillful actors to succeed. Alfred Hitchcock was a genius at the art of filmmaking with the use of silent effects.

Deaf people see us in the raw. They see you as you really are. Are you honestly ready?

Summary

Prepare for your next interview as if the interviewer was deaf and the only way to convince the interviewer is with your body-language.

I consider mock video interviews and silent mock video interviews as the ultimate tools in preparing for your job interview. Being time consuming, do you really need this level of preparation? To improve your job interview skills, you’re the only one who knows what you need.
