#3: Building Your Image Job Interview via Constructive Self-criticism

This is the toughest Step 3 Job interview secret. First, we need to set the background.

Have you ever gone on a job interview where you waited forever to ask your questions? Finally, at the end, the interviewer, as if out of habit, asked if you had any questions. From the tone of the interviewer did you have the feeling that the interviewer lacked interest? Not very uplifting!

Let’s face it; your execution of your job interview techniques, during your first 3 job interview steps, was not very inspiring. So what did you expect?

Soldiers’, surgeons’, and top professionals’ success relies on some form of mutual trust. Will your job interview be heralded with trumpets that you’re the trusted solution?

Dramatic? Can you name one job, “high” or “low”, where a successful applicant is not the solution? Trumpets, please.

How can you achieve a successful job interview? With ruthless constructive self-criticism, job interview preparation and training!

Fighting for a job, you should be so well trained for your job interview that if you woke up from a coma, your first interview question should knock the toupee or wig off your interviewer. J

If you lack focus, all your fancy cover letters, resumes, drilling questions and answers and faking posturing are hollow attempts at preparing for a job interview. And it will show.

For the interviewer to hand you the control of the interview, you have to earn it.

Summary

Train for Step 2 as if your career depends on it. It does! If you can convert your Step 2 into a chat before Step 3 ends, then your questioning should be easier and more natural.

Never slack off. Your words and your interview body language must work as one throughout your job interview.

Once you are empowered to ask questions, nail down Step 3. Show your interviewer that the control and trust placed in your hands was well deserved. With your well carried out job interview techniques, can anyone do better?

By now you should have a good idea as to what direction your job interview is heading. Your only remaining task is to get a job offer. For tips on asking for the job see Step #4, “Ultimate Job Interview Secret!”
